The Butler Parent Connection (BPC) is an all-volunteer organization (similar to what is commonly called the PTA), that supports school activities and provides opportunities for parents, families, teachers, and staff to connect.
The goals of BPC are to help Butler families connect with each other and with staff, to foster parental involvement with the school and to provide opportunities to learn more about a Montessori education in general and Butler in specific.
We meet these goals by holding social, educational and fundraising events, like our Fall Festival, Holiday Party and Family Game Nights, and by collaborating with the Butler leadership to organize school events such as the Book Fair, Restaurant Meet Ups and Hands On! Arts & Activities.
All Butler families are automatically considered members of the BPC. BPC activities are open to all the Butler community – parents, staff, and teachers. BPC officers, who act as the leadership team, are current Butler parents, supported by staff and teacher liaisons. Additionally, each class has one or two classroom parents that act as a connection between the BPC, the teachers, and the parents.
You are invited to attend and participate in as many BPC-sponsored events as you can, and volunteer if your schedule allows. Your involvement helps to support your child’s learning and development, to connect you with other parents, and to build strong relationships within the parent-teacher community. The BPC will reach out through classroom parents and the Weekly Butler Bulletin with opportunities to volunteer and become more involved.
"For us, the school truly feels like a community and a nurturing environment for the children and for the parents as well...it feels like a family community in many ways, and it's something we appreciate deeply at Butler. I always know that the children are raised in an environment where they are respected and supported in every possible caring way! "
The BPC officers are volunteers who plan and run events throughout the school year.
