Thank You to everyone who made this such a fun and successful day!

Please plan to join us next year, Saturday, May 4, 2019!

Hands On! Arts & Activities Day

Hands On! Arts & Activities Day is an engaging program-based event geared towards living out Butler Montessori’s mission of purposeful enrichment. This family-friendly community event features a variety of parent/child and child-only workshops and classes, including outdoor exploration and art-centered options. Hands On! provides an opportunity to gather, explore the school’s beautiful 22-acre campus, and experience hands-on learning at its best.

This year’s classes included  geocaching, bush skills, nature-trail treks, cupcake decorating, bracelet making, and much more.

We invite you to join us next year on Saturday, May 4, 2019 for another fun day of exploration and enrichment!

Proceeds from 2017’s Hands On! Arts & Activities Day supported our “Better the Backyard” green education initiative which included adding outdoor classroom decking, playground structure enhancements, and classroom gardens.  Because of these improvements, our school received Bethesda Magazine’s Green Award and our children have had the unique opportunity to immerse themselves in hands-on environmental and outdoor education programs around campus.

2018’s Hands On! proceeds will support the purchase of our very own multi-use Pick-Up Truck! The Pick-Up Truck will save time and money by moving critical tasks in-house. It will support all Butler Montessori’s students through key programs such as Outdoor Education, Equestrian and the Intermediate Farm.

Hands On! Arts & Activities Day is located on Butler Montessori’s beautiful 22-acre campus, adjoining Seneca Creek State Park.  Hands On! workshops and programs take place in our indoor and outdoor classrooms, on our nature trails, and the playing fields.
