Hands On! is an event we want to share with our Butler Montessori Community, students, alumni, campers, family, and friends. We also want to share Butler Montessori with those who don’t yet know who we are and what we have to offer.
Hands On! Arts & Activities Day is located on Butler Montessori’s beautiful 22-acre campus, adjoining Seneca Creek State Park. Hands On! activities and classes take place in our indoor and outdoor classrooms, on our nature trails, and the playing fields.
15951 Germantown Rd
Darnestown, MD 20878
No registration fees for any class or activity! Activities are free-flowing throughout the day while classes will have limited spaces available and require advance registration.
There will be something for everyone! Hands On! Arts & Activities Day will feature several of Butler Montessori and Butler Camp favorites available to all. Activities are free-flowing throughout the day and do not require advance registration. These activities include pony rides, zap line, geocaching/orienteering, paracord bracelet making, and a Touch-A-Truck Event! We kindly ask that all attendees RSVP and fill out a waiver either through EventBrite or when they arrive on campus.
An activity where kids can climb into the cabs, honk the horns, examine the equipment, flash the lights, and learn about how the unique vehicles do their jobs at Butler Montessori or within the Community. These include our school buses, Butler Montessori tractors and truck, as well, as a Fire Truck from our local Fire House 22 (the firehouse on 118 & Clopper Rd in Germantown).
While the event is free, advanced registration is recommended for classes in order to secure your spot – space is limited! Registration will also allow us to determine number of volunteers needed to welcome attendees, number of registrations packets to create, and anticipate parking needs.
We will be offering classes such as Cupcake Decorating, Fairy Gardens and Ogre Swamps, Going Fishin’, Salamander Sleuths, and more! These classes are free and will have limited spaces on a first come, first serve basis. When you register, please ensure you also select any of the classes you wish to attend.
In the case of inclement weather, a status-update email will be sent 24-hours to all participants who have registered to the event via EventBrite. All indoor classes will continue as scheduled. Status updates will be available via our Event Facebook Page. Follow the Event on FB to ensure you receive updates.
