BPC: The Butler Parent Connection
Welcome to the BPC
What is the BPC?
The Butler Parent Connection (BPC) is an all-volunteer organization (similar to what is commonly called the PTA), that supports school activities and provides opportunities for parents, families, teachers, and staff to connect.
Why does it exist?
The goals of Butler Parent Connection (BPC) are to build a strong community of Butler parents, to support the relationship between parents and Butler staff and teachers, and to foster family involvement with the school. We plan social and fund raising events during the year, and partner with the Butler leadership and staff to co-organize many of the school events such as the Book Fair, Field Day, and Fall Festival.
All Butler families are automatically considered members of the BPC. BPC activities are open to all the Butler community – parents, staff, and teachers. BPC officers, who act as the leadership team, are current Butler parents, supported by staff and teacher liaisons. Additionally, each class has one or two classroom parents that act as a connection between the BPC, the teachers, and the parents.
How can I get involved?
You are invited to attend and participate in as many BPC-sponsored events as you can, and volunteer if your schedule allows. Your involvement helps to support your child’s learning and development, to connect you with other parents, and to build strong relationships within the parent-teacher community. The BPC will reach out directly and through classroom parents throughout the school year with opportunities to volunteer and become more involved.
